Frequently asked questions
Where is my data stored?
On your Mac. Each project is a .qproj folder at a location you choose. Liminon does not upload your recordings, transcripts, codes, or notes to us, and there is no account to sync them to.
Does Liminon need an internet connection?
No. Transcription, speaker separation, and AI-assisted coding run on your Mac. A purchased license is verified offline. The only network requests the app makes are the one-time download of the transcription models (a few GB, on your first transcription) and the update check, which runs only when you start it yourself.
Which Macs are supported?
Apple Silicon (M1 or later) running macOS 14 or later. The on-device models need Apple Silicon to run well.
Does Liminon collect analytics?
The app does not collect usage analytics, telemetry, or crash reports. The website uses privacy-configured analytics; see the privacy policy for details.
Where is my license key?
Your license key is sent by email after purchase. Activation stores the key in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. If you cannot find the email, write to [email protected].
